Last year at The Big Chili Cook-Off, we had many gifted local artisans displaying and selling their wares at vendor booths. Our art vendors were in the Lake House, and it was a favorite spot of many.
We love having local artists as well as business vendors at the event. Along with our activities, children’s area, chili cooks and emergency service vehicles, we end up with a full, fun and exciting event.
What more would you like to see? You are a part of this, and we’d love to have
your input. If you have any ideas, please share them here.

And… if you haven’t gotten your 2012 Firefighter Calendar yet, it’s not too late! You can purchase them at The Big Chili. 100% of the proceeds from every calendar sold through the end of the year goes to our local fire departments.

Those of you who viewed the silent auction items are sure to have seen the stunning, life-sized wood carving of a firefighter. Some of you may even have had the pleasure of seeing it carved. Wood carver Rich Krupicka of Wild West Wood Crafts is famous in this area for being an accomplished chainsaw artist. He has been featured in The Canyon Courier and High Timber Times. He combines vision and artistry with skillful craftsmanship, and his carvings are quickly recognized by many in the Front Range.
In addition to the firefighter carving, Rich also donated an eagle he carved for the silent auction. Rich’s ability to recreate wildlife within the medium of wood is unparalleled by any other, making Rich’s carvings one of a kind works of art. He doesn’t try to recreate an exact replica of an animal, but instead works to give it the feeling or emotion it should have. You can drive by and see what Rich is doing at Wild West Wood Crafts, 9240 Hwy 73 in Evergreen.
