Turkey Chili

If you use extra lean turkey, this becomes a low-fat, high-protein meal bursting with flavor.

Turkey Chili

1 – 1.25 pounds ground turkey

1 medium onion – diced

1 can kidney beans, undrained

1 can chili beans, undrained

1 8 ounce can tomato sauce

1 4 ounce can fire roasted green chilis

1 clove garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon chili powder (or more to taste)

1/4 teaspoon oregano

salt and pepper to taste


Saute’ onion for five minutes with a little olive oil. Add turkey to pan and season with salt and pepper. Cook until turkey is no longer pink. Combine turkey and onion with remaining ingredients in a crock pot and cook on low for several hours. (You can also simmer on low on the stovetop). Thin with water if necessary.
