Improve the World

How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.  ~ Anne Frank

I’m sure everyone is familiar with the story of Anne Frank, a young girl who was killed by the Nazis in a concentration camp during WWII. Knowing the evil she was facing, and knowing she was hated by a whole population of people because she was Jewish, she still had the optimism to believe that she could start to improve the world. Improve the world, she did. Little did she know that her diary would be in print all over the world seventy years after her death, and that her words would be impacting people. The wisdom of this girl generates an improvement of the world that is ofttimes intangible ~ a changed perception, a better attitude, an increase in hope. All of this came about because she believed she mattered, what she did and said mattered, even when she thought its impact would only be felt in the tiny sphere of her personal world. Yet the ripples of her life go on and on.

What will you do today that matters?
