Thank you Freedom Harley-Davidson. We were thrilled to have you participate at The Big Chili ~ and your bikes were a huge hit!

Thank you Rose Medical Center Midwives for providing a privacy tent for our nursing mothers. It was such a blessing to walk away from the crowds to quietly feed our tiny ones.

Thank you Best Buy. One of our firefighters won your T.V., and this seems like an extremely fitting finish to the day!

So many people and businesses made this day wonderful. Every sponsorship, big or small, was a critical part of making the day what it was. Thank you everyone!

Well, The Big Chili Cook-Off 2011 is behind us, and many wonderful memories were made. We had greater attendance than we’ve had in the past. The children’s area was full the entire day, with little ones getting their beautiful faces painted, and a juggler teaching juggling to the kiddos all day.

We had exciting moments, like the landing of the helicopter, and moments that moved us emotionally, like the reading of the 9-11 tribute. We had thrilling moments, like the time we spent at Freedom Harley-Davidson looking at the bikes, and moments filled with fun when we cheered on our favorites during the Firefighter’s Challenge.

Some of us were astounded watching the amazing wood carver create a beautiful carving of a firefighter, then donate it to the Silent Auction. And all of us were blessed by the fantastic army of volunteers that stepped up nearly at the last minute to help make the day happen. Thank you Sandy Dixon of Interior Arrangements for filling in in the final stretch as our volunteer coordinator. You were needed and you made things happen. And thank you Blue Spruce Habitat for Humanity and Ares Communications for all you did to help the event flow smoothly. Thank you to all our volunteers – you’re so necessary and so appreciated!

Freedom Harley-Davidson is part of our community of sponsors for The Big Chili Cook-Off. They will have a booth on September 11th, so be sure to look for them  and their bikes. If you’ve ever dreamed of owing a hog, now is your chance to get a photo with one for your dream board! They will also have Miss Harley (who is a local girl) at their booth.  If you’re not familiar with this company, you can check them out here. Thank you, Freedom Harley-Davidson! It’s because of our sponsors that The Big Chili comes together.

There’s nothing quite like a summer ride on an infrequently traveled mountain road. It’s just you, the bike and the mountain – giving you that perfect sense of freedom. Taking on those hills requires power. Are you looking for more horsepower and torque without pulling your motor apart? At Freedom Harley-Davidson they’ve had great results with their turbo kits that are easy to install and produce safe, reliable increases in power. Their turbo V-rod produces 182 rear wheel horsepower! They have turbo kits available for every new model Harley and they’ve even built a 2010 turbo trike!

Freedom Harley-Davidson is part of our community of sponsors for The Big Chili Cook-Off. They have joined forces with other local businesses to support our mountain area volunteer fire departments. If you’re not familiar with this company, you can check them out here. Thank you, Freedom Harley-Davidson! It’s because of our sponsors that The Big Chili comes together.

Thanks

Without sponsors, the Big Chili Cook-Off simply wouldn’t happen. We have many different sponsorship levels available for those businesses and individuals who want to take part. We have premiere sponsors, such as, State Farm Insurance and our five mountain agents: Michelle Boley, Brian Himmelman, Chuck Ridings, Nancy Staub, and Michele Vanags. We have several first-time sponsors, like Freedom Harley Davidson. And Chase Bank Evergreen is making chili for the cook-off, for the first time. Thank you – to all of you.

We’ve only mentioned a few sponsors here, but the point is this: The Big Chili Cook-Off only comes together because of every single person and business who choose to be involved in the event. Our success is because of – YOU. We’re able to support our volunteer fire departments because of – YOU. Thank you.

Is there anything cooler than life on a Harley?  Harley Davidson, the motorcycle invented, designed and built in the United States by a twenty year old guy who started by mounting a motor on a regular bicycle.  Intended mainly for racing, the motorized two-wheeler was so popular it became the vehicle of choice in World War I and soon after hit the streets with a vengeance.  The design and performance have continued to be the trademark for the all American icon and today’s bikes are style and grace on wheels.  Harley Davidson isn’t just any motorcycle, it is our motorcycle, the bike that built the West and this year, the Tenth Anniversary for the Big Chili Cook-off, we’ve got ‘em.  Freedom Harley Davidson will be joining us on September 11th at the Lake House.  They are sponsoring the event, and they’re coming with bikes, real Harley Davidson’s.  So put on your leathers and wear your boots.  Harley’s coming to town and we can’t wait!
